We'll check everyone in at our giant woodland cabin and enjoy wandering the forest together for our first camp adventure.
We'll wake up at our cabin and spend the morning workshopping with the Light Grey team over breakfast, learning about star-stories and the mythology behind some of the most incredible of our 88 modern constellations. After lunch, we'll head to our first day Bryce Canyon National Park in the afternoon to wander the beautiful Queens Garden Loop and spend time sketching the brilliant hoodoos of Bryce Canyon!. We'll have a picnic dinner and proceed to our first night of the 17th Annual Astronomy Festival!
Bryce Canyon is one of the Night Sky Sanctuaries of the United States -- here, there is such little light pollution that you can see everything from the bright expanse of the Milky Way, to the blinking light of the International Space Station in it's rotation. As the sun dips behind the horizon, renowned astronomers begin their talks! We'll enjoy learning about the Cosmos into the night!
After a late breakfast and some much needed coffee, we'll dive into the astrological side of the universe and we'll have a workshop in our birth charts! Learn how your astrological sign might influence your fate, or how the planets pull at different elements in your life during our morning workshop. We'll make everyone customized birth charts so you can take yours home and plan for the future after the program!
After lunch, we'll head back to Bryce to tackle the beautiful Inspiration Point hike, where we'll take in incredible panoramic views of Bryce's many magnificent features. From this high up, the canyon looks expansive, and one can see how the light plays across all of the anthropomorphic shapes of the hoodoos. At night, we'll listen to lectures by some of Utah's most celebrated astronomers, learn about the science of stardust and the origins of our universe while gazing at the night sky.
We'll make a big family-style breakfast and spend the morning making our own customized deck of Oracle Cards! After lunch, we'll make Galaxy Deserts together to pack for our night out. We'll head back for our final full evening at Bryce Canyon, where we'll take on Sunset Point Hike as the night falls upon us. In the evening, we'll meander through a sea of over 80 high-powered telescopes contributed by the Salt Lake Astronomical Society and Bryce Canyon's Astronomy Rangers.
See what Saturn looks like with it's many rings, View binary stars and learn to spot some of the most interesting features in our night sky from the pros! We'll have an opportunity to take a hike into the hoodoos at night with Bryce Canyon's night-rangers.
We’ll say goodbye to one another over a delicious farewell breakfast and plenty of good coffee, and the Light Grey team will assist everyone in getting back to St. George to catch their flights by Noon today. The team would be happy to help you coordinate your shuttle back to Las Vegas this morning as well for anyone leaving the same day. If you are staying on to explore the area further, we’d be happy to recommend some other amazing places for you!
**** Please note that we do our best to stick to our itinerary above, but we do occasionally adjust or modify our schedule due to weather, road conditions, or unforeseen circumstances --- but only if we must.
