An Illustrated Jewelry Exhibition
The Omnibus Treasury explores the art of adornment, treasure, and covetable wears through this artist illustrated jewelry exhibition. Each of the exhibiting artists, collaborate with Light Grey Art Lab to produce their own line of themed jewelry. The collections include florals, summer fruits, exotic birds, coral reefs, space materials, and more. The Omnibus Treasury enables participants to experience illustration in a new and interactive format - accessorizing, constructing, and identifying with these delicate, handcrafted pieces.
Angela Rizza, Angela Taguiang, Ann Macarayan, Bridie Cheeseman, Caitlin Clarkson, Camille Chew, Celine Loup, Chelsea Kenna, Delia Evin, Ellen Su, Irena Freitas, Isabel Seliger, Jenessa Mae Kundinger, Jennifer Hom, Jenny Bookler, Joe Lillington, Julia Lavigne, Leigh Luna, Lindsay Nohl, Lynn Wang, Meg Hunt, Phoenix Chan, Rachel Wingard, Rebecca Olene, Rose Wong, Shannon May, and Stephanie Engel
The process of creating this jewelry involves a two-step collaboration. Each artist created an iconic collection of imagery, focusing on their chosen theme, and considering shape and form. These drawings were then sent to Light Grey Art Lab where Light Grey Art Lab founder, Lindsay Nohl, hand-makes each piece, transferring the artists' work to it's final physical state, and choosing complementary findings, chain and elements. Lindsay Nohl has a background in product development and surface design and has over 15 years of jewelry design experience.
One collection of each artists work is on display in the gallery for the exhibition and limited quantities of made-to-order jewelry from the Omnibus Treasury will be available through the month of June. Please visit our shop to support the exhibition or to take another look at the work.
Human beings are, by nature, eclectic creatures. We collect and display, we find importance and meaning in patterns and connections. A collection is defined as a grouping of precious items that relate to one another in a way that is complementary -- where the relationship ( and the importance of the grouping) is often defined by the collector. We adorn ourselves with items that we'd like to think extend bits and pieces of our own personalities : these elements are clues to who we are and what lies within us.
As illustrators, designers and artists, we often think about our work as an extension of who we are. The Omnibus Treasury allows a glimpse into the interests and important themes of each participating artist and the format allows the viewers to not only view the work, but adorn one's self with work that speaks, too, about one's own interests.
